Camden Elementary School -

Camden Elementary students went on a virtual field trip right from the library! Using Google Expedition VR headsets, students in grades 2-4 were able to immerse themselves into places all over the globe...and beyond! They learned about various habitats, landforms, and even saw the surface of Mars.

Last night, we had a tremendous turnout for our 2024 District-Wide "Growing With The Arts" Art Show! Thanks to everyone who came to support our young artists at this incredible showcase of their talents!

Room service? At school? For one day at CES, that idea wasn't too good to be true. Last week, CES Student Council members helped deliver “Room Service” treats to staff members in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you teachers and staff for all you do!

The day is here! Join us tonight at 6:30-8pm at Camden High School as we celebrate art across the district in our K-12 art show. All are welcome!

Registration for our 2024 season of the Camp Sum-More-Fun Summer Enrichment programs has been moving quickly. Between our "Happy Campers" (Current K-2 Students) and "Adventurers" (Current Grade 3-6 Students) programs, an impressive 339 students have been signed up in under six days across both of those programs! If you still need to register your child, check ParentSquare for the link. Registration questions can be directed to Amanda Mitchell (amitchell@camdencsd.org) and Sarah Roth-Trnchik (sroth-trnchik@camdencsd.org) for the Adventurers program, and Craig Ferretti (cferretti@camdencsd.org) can answer any "Happy Campers" program questions.

The Camden Central School District will host the May meeting of the "Look at Me, I'm Three" program on Wednesday, 5/15. If you are attending with your child, please contact Patti Ferretti to RSVP if you have not done so already. Contact information is included in the attached image.

This Wednesday from 6:30-8pm at Camden High School, celebrate K-12th grade art in our district! All are welcome! We hope to see you there!

Miss Stone and Mrs. Fasulo’s class at CES finished their insect unit by spending the week researching different insects on the computer, completing a flip book of facts, and building their insects out of various supplies!

In the spirit of Teacher Appreciation Week, Camden Elementary School held a role reversal dress up day on Friday! Teachers dressed as students, and students dressed as teachers! No word on whether or not the students tried to assign any homework today.

ATTENTION CAMPERS! Camp Sum-More-Fun is back for 2024! This two-week day camp enrichment program will run from Monday, July 15th until Thursday, July 25th! Meals and transportation included. Registration links are coming next week through ParentSquare!

At CES, Mrs. Poulin's and Mrs. Ouderkirk's class recently celebrated the wedding of the letters Q and U! Students learned that qu makes the sound /kw/ and that the letters q and u are always working together to make words like "quiz", "queen", "quilt" and more. What a fun way to celebrate learning about phonics! No word on whether or not the reception had any of those yummy bacon wrapped scallops. If anyone sees the server who has those, please send them my way...

CES Families! Camden Elementary School is once again participating in Enchanted Forest/Water Safari's Reading Safari program! See the attached program letter for details and reach out to Mr. Ferretti or Mrs. Mitchell if you have questions.

It's that time of year again! Our annual K-12 art show will take place on May 15th! The Art Department is currently seeking donations of artwork from community members and former students for our art auction. The proceeds from the auction allow the department to award a graduating Senior who is heading into the art field with funds to purchase art supplies as they begin their college career. Please reach out to Amy Andrews if you have a piece of artwork that you would like to donate!
