Wednesday, November 13th was an exciting day for Camden High School’s physical education classes. It was the day that the long-awaited refinishing of the gymnasium floor was ready for classes. It was only fitting that they started with a memorable lesson as CHS played host to the US Army Fitness Challenge.
The US Army Fitness Challenge offers schools a one-day takeover of their Physical Education classes by local Army personnel. Students compete in a series of team fitness challenges inspired by military training exercises, and also receive a basic overview of the options military service can bring them. The winning team in each class received T-Shirts, and many students also went home with other items.
At the end of the day, high school physical education teachers Steve Morrison, Katherine Migliori, and Paul Calicchia received a plaque designating Camden High School as an “Army Fit” Certified School.
Thanks to the Rome Recruiting Office for bringing this program to our students.
