The Camden Central School District is pleased to announce that Camden High School senior Annaka Stauring has been selected as a “Commended Student” in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship program for the 2025 graduating class. The news was made official in a formal presentation by Camden High School principal Aaron Fiorini on Wednesday, September 25th.
This recognition is a significant milestone within the National Merit Scholarship program. The program begins with 1.3 million prospective participants taking the PSAT, which doubles as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Students typically take the test during their junior year to be considered for the program. Of those 1.3 million students, only about 34,000 (2.6 percent) receive the designation of a “Commended Student” in the National Merit Scholarship Awards Program.
