One year ago today, we celebrated becoming a partner district with Connected Community Schools with our ribbon-cutting! This organization has meant so much to our children and our families over the last twelve months, and it is an honor to be part of your continued expansion throughout Oneida, Madison, Fulton, and Herkimer Counties!

The WCHS News Crew is back in full swing for the 2022-23 school year! Students at CHS gather each morning for an elective class where they produce a video version of the school's morning announcements. While putting together this collaborative project each morning, they learn about production technology and hone their critical thinking skills. When the show is wrapped up for the day, it gets posted at https://www.camdenschools.org/o/chs/page/current-announcements for our students, staff, and community to see! We'll give you an opportunity to read more about this program in our first edition of the Camden Connections newsletter for the 2022-23 school year!

It was an AWESOME Friday Night in the Queen Village! Our varsity football program opened the 2022 season with a 43-24 win over Chittenango! As part of the festivities, we honored our 1972 team at halftime. We also took time to recognize our 1982, 1992, 2002, and 2012 squads as part of a multi-generational celebration of Camden football! The Blue Devils will look to double up on their win total to start the season as they meet Cortland for a Thursday night home game. Come on out and support the team!

Camden Middle School Student Drew Collins recently won a school supply drawing run by Bassin and Hession Orthodontics. On Friday, she brought in a bag of school supplies to donate to Camden Middle School! Thank you Bassin and Hession Orthodontics for supporting our schools, and thank you to Drew for being a kind and generous student!

Homecoming is just around the corner, and groups in our schools and community can be a part of the action by participating in the 2022 Homecoming Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 1 p.m., ahead of that evening's homecoming football game against South Jefferson. Click the link below to sign up! Athletic Director Josh Mazzaferro has released the following reminders pertaining to Friday's varsity football game against Chittenango. Blue Devils, We hope everyone has had an enjoyable first week back! Tomorrow evening at 7pm our Boys Varsity Football Team will host the Chittenango Bears at Camden High School Stadium. We would like to share some valuable information that will help ensure that tomorrows event is enjoyable for all. 1.) All Elementary and Middle School Students must be accompanied by a parent(s) or guardian(s). 2.) There is still construction happening due to the capital project. Please stay away from fenced off construction areas. 3.) Portable bathrooms, as well as bathrooms inside the school will be available. Inside Bathrooms will be straight down the X hallway entrance at the back of the school. 4.) Please review the included spectator expectations. (See image) Lastly, we are looking forward to a great night of football! We want to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to seeing everyone Friday night at 7pm. Go Blue!

At last week's Opening Day festivities, we took the opportunity to honor our employees with 25 years of service to our District! We'd like to thank Kelly Mirabelli, Kate Wilson, Tammy Kline, Nanette Burt, and (Not Pictured) Beth Finster for everything they do for our students and community, and wish them all the best in the years to come!

Pictures from the boys' varsity soccer season opener held on August 31st at New Hartford. The team is scheduled to host Oneida today at 4:15 p.m., while the varsity and junior varsity girls' soccer teams will be at Oneida. Go Blue Devils!

Our staff is starting to file into the Camden High School Auditorium for Opening Day 2022! We're excited to take this important step towards the start of another successful academic year!

Members of the Camden Central School District's transportation, food service, and maintenance staffs had their annual safety training with Jack Angrisano of Madison-Oneida BOCES on Wednesday, August 31st. The countdown is on! In less than one week, we welcome students back to our buses, hallways, classrooms, and cafeterias for the 2022-23 academic year!

Is your student interested in playing modified sports this fall? If so, the Camden Central School District has an opportunity for you! Our Blue Devils modified athletic program is seeking prospective student-athletes for all of our fall sports offerings. If interested in competing, please sign up using FamilyID no later than September 9th. Registration can be completed at the following link. https://www.familyid.com/camden-central-schools-athletics Questions should be directed to the coach of the sport your student is interested in, or to Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Health Josh Mazzaferro. The Camden Central School District and Connected Community Schools had an excellent turnout for the Connected Community Schools "Touch a Truck" night on Thursday, August 25th at Camden High School. The District would like to express its gratitude to the businesses and agencies who brought trucks for the children of our community to see up close, and to Connected Community Schools for its work in assembling a great schedule of summer programs.
