Imagination Library

The Camden Central School District would like to remind its families with children under five about the opportunity to receive books through the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Program.

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the world’s preeminent early childhood book gifting program. It is supported through the work of the Dollywood Foundation. The Imagination Library mails more than 2.4 million high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to registered children from birth through age five in hopes of fostering a love of reading and promoting literacy for all.

Each month from birth to their fifth birthday, all children in the District who have been registered for the program will be eligible to receive a book. There is no cost to our families for this optional program, and there are no eligibility requirements other than the child’s age.

In total, the initiative has sent out over 250 million books over its lifespan. Nationwide, over 3 million children are currently enrolled in the program. Since re-launching in Oneida County at this time last year, over 7,000 books have been distributed to children in the Camden Central School District and Utica City School District, and the initiative has recently expanded to more districts across Central New York.
